I want to thank everyone on our board for putting together another successful Fall Showcase at Wente Vineyard in Livermore. The Wente venue is beautiful along with tasty food and wine. Show attendance from distributors was higher than expected and we had to create areas for additional suppliers to exhibit their products. If you did not attend, you missed out on an opportunity to connect with over 55 supplier partners and see what’s trending. We also had a dedicated area featuring sustainable or USA made products.
We all know the saying, “location, location, location” for real estate. Well, location is key when it comes to where we hold our shows. Our PMANC board is always looking for suggestions on show locations, so bring it on if you can help. From the feedback from distributors from last month’s show, the Wente location was again well received. The Livermore/Pleasanton area is obviously perfect for our East Bay distributors, but also a short travel time from the S. Bay, Peninsula driving against traffic flows. We even had distributors attend from Sacramento, Fresno, and Stockton. If you have additional feedback or suggestions, please pass along to one of our board members or our Executive Director, Eliana Franklin.
Next year is sneaking up on us. Please mark your calendars for our Spring show, Promo Madness, scheduled for March 15, 2023, at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.

PMANC Cares is holding our annual coat and clothing drive throughout the bay area November 14-18.
As you know this is a difficult time for many and these drives provide warm coats for those less fortunate.

LDW Juices Promo’s Regional Associations For The Year Ahead

Effective leadership drives any organization, be it a business, a team or, in the case of this week’s 2022 PPAI Leadership Development Workshop, a regional association. Takeaways from the three-day event will inform executive directors’ and board members’ decision-making in the year ahead.
LDW returned this week for its 21st in-person event and the first time the popular conference drew participants together face-to-face since 2019. It included attendees representing all of the promotional products industry’s 27 regional associations.

Named PPAI Regional Volunteer Award Recipient

Thea Bruce, CAS, operations manager at Newcastle, Washington-based multi-line rep firm Incentives West, former executive director of the Northwest Promotional Marketing Association (NWPMA) and current board treasurer of the regional association, has been named the 2022 recipient of the PPAI Regional Volunteer Award.
The Award
The PPAI Regional Volunteer Award is presented annually to regional association members who demonstrate an outstanding level of volunteerism, leadership and/or have made other significant and measurable contributions to one or more regional associations. Whether recipients have been actively involved in association programs or impacted association growth and stewardship, the PPAI Regional Volunteer is an enthusiastic advocate who has taken their involvement and commitment to ever higher levels of participation.

PPAI Announces Winners Of Its Most Prestigious Awards

|
PPAI has announced the recipients of its 2023 Icon Awards, including the PPAI Hall of Fame, Distinguished Service Award and H. Ted Olson Humanitarian Award.
These awards celebrate the accomplishments of individuals who have gone above and beyond in service to the promotional products industry, the Association and their communities.
Recipients of the Association’s most prestigious awards will be recognized at the Chair’s Leadership Dinner at The PPAI Expo in Las Vegas, on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

PPEF Executive Committee
Joins PPAI For 2023 Planning Meeting

This week at PPAI’s headquarters in Irving, Texas, the Association was host to a meeting of the Promotional Products Education Foundation’s (PPEF) 2022 Executive Committee for a 2023 planning session.
The Meeting
PPAI welcomed members of PPEF’s 2022 Executive Committee and incoming members of the committee at its offices. The meeting focused on the Foundation’s plans for 2023, including the budget and how much to award in scholarships, when it would open scholarship applications for next year, and PPEF’s strategic priorities as it continues its growth to help even more industry families by providing college scholarships.
